We live in a world in which the cult of celebrity prevails, and for those at the top of their game this not only means that the famous can afford to cruise around in some of the most luxurious transport available, but also that when they come to sell their assets their value is boosted by the very fact of their previous celebrity owners.
According to Motoring Research having a previous celebrity owner can increase the value of a car by up to 241%. So they win both ways, but we still love to see what our favourite actors, recoding artists and sports stars are driving. Here are a few of the best examples:
Lincoln Continental – Justin Bieber
Considering his musical style the Canadian singer-songwriter has surprisingly conservative tastes when it comes to his wheels. His restored 1965 Continental is one of five cars Bieber owns, and was apparently bought for him by a friend as a present. Where should we be looking for a friend like that?

Jaguar XJL – Tulisa Contostavlos
The N-Dubz girl clearly has the X-Factor, to be moving around in such a beautiful machine. She is also rumoured to own a white Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. Just the one, mind.
Ferrari 458 Italia – Kim Kardashian
The socialite and reality TV star picked up this little white number for a mere $325,000, although it’s probably worth more now. With a 4.5 litre, V8 engine with 650 HP the Italia can reach 60 mph in 3.3 seconds.
Maybach Exelero – Jay-Z
Now in his mid-forties, Jay has had plenty of time to save up for this little bargain which set him back a cool eight million dollars, although if he was strapped for cash his wife Beyoncé may have chipped in a few cents towards the asking price.
Jaguar XJ Supersport – David Beckham
It’s been a long time since Jimmy Greaves and Johnny Haynes became Britain’s first £100-a-week footballers. They’d have had to save up every penny for almost twenty years before being able afford this classy black item, which the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star likes to drive himself.
Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe – David Beckham
For when he gets tired of the Jag, Becks is able to fall back on this luxury 6.75 litre, $407,000 coupe. With a top speed of only 150 mph the Phantom is considered a luxury rather than an outwardly sporty type. It would be unkind to suggest that LA Galaxy may have felt the same way about him in the twilight of his footballing career.
SportKa – Wayne Rooney
It would be only fair to point out that this was far from being Wayne’s only motor, and probably most unfair to remind him that he won’t be needing any of them for a while.
Bugatti Veyron – Simon Cowell
Pop Idol, X-Factor, BGT and American Idol panellist Simon had to show some uniquely good judgment when selecting this $1.7 million machine.
